Kev in Britain’s Got Talent 2010

Meet Kev Orkian (18 July – 7 August)

Pianist, award-winning comedian, and all around funny man, Kev Orkian (UK) is the only international performer to have been invited to perform at Cape Town Funny Festival for 5 years in a row.

Classically trained, Kev's diverse repertoire is a fine blend of acting, off-beat humour, exceptional musical comedy and classical musical performance - resulting in captivating comedic genius.

Previously a concert pianist, Kev has toured with numerous orchestras, and performed in venues like the Sydney Opera House and Windsor Castle, only entering the comedy scene in the late 2000s.

In 2010, Kev Orkian performed for Prince Philip, celebrating his 89th birthday at the Guards Polo Club. The event fell behind schedule and Prince Philip was set to leave – before Kev got on stage – to get to another engagement. But as soon as Kev started his sketch the Prince decided to sit back down and watch the full act. So impressed was he that instead of rushing off at the end he stayed even longer to congratulate Kev in person. Prince Philip was quoted as saying "It’s a wonderful show. I thoroughly enjoyed your performance"

Kev first performed at the Cape Town Funny Festival in 2011, where he was recognised for the most standing ovations of the festival.
